Shchebal’skii, P.K.: Out of Suez

The travel notes begin with the author recounting a train journey from Suez to Cairo, in which he observes the characteristics of the region. In particular, he praises Egypt’s ability in irrigating the soil through the Nile’s water. Upon reaching Cairo, the author finds no rooms available at the Hotel d’Orient, but finds accommodation elsewhere. He describes the local architecture, including charming inner yards.
