Anthropological Notes on Dahomean Women

Summary

Subtitle: The Dahomean female pelvis. The essay, which was presented before the members of the Kharkiv Medical Society in 1895, is an anthropological and anthropometric study of a group of twenty-two women from Dahomey, who arrived in Kharkiv as part of an ethnic show’s troup. After describing the general physical appearance of these women and providing notions on their character, Favr concentrates on the anthropometric measurements he took, with a special focus on the pelvis area.
